I went to “Matsumoto Clock Museum” in Matsumoto City.
watch museum
This clock museum is also right next to Matsumoto Station, and it feels like you’re wandering around the banks of the river in this city of Matsumoto… There are big roads and small alleys running along the river, and there are places where the small alleys are quite tourist spots, and it felt like tourists were wandering around, but here you can drive around. I did, but there are parking lots here and there, and he is wide. I feel like I don’t have to worry about where to park my car because it’s so wide, but that’s how it is. This “Clock Museum” is also located along a slightly larger road on the bank of the river, and when viewed from the front or diagonally, it has a lot of modern architecture. It feels really good. However, the entrance was not…
The Matsumoto City Clock Museum is a museum located in the center of Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, and opened on September 1, 2002 as an annex of the Matsumoto City Museum. The museum has approximately 400 items, mainly from the collection donated by watch collector Chikazo Honda in 1974, of which 110 are on permanent display. In addition, the building, which has one of the largest pendulum clocks in Japan installed on its outer wall, is a joint construction with the Honmachi Shopping District Promotion Association and the Honmachi Hall of the neighborhood association. There is an old clock road, a workshop, a museum shop and a cafe inside. It’s a watch museum.
watch history
When you walk in, there’s a really nice looking staircase with a wow clock on it. As a museum, he is a museum of watches: the history of watches, old and new watches, and watches of all types. Pendulum, sand, shadow? Is that how you feel? Also, it’s probably a watch from overseas~ he’s exhibiting a gorgeous watch for now. As you can see the structure, it’s a skeleton, a huge pendulum clock, and what I think is old-fashioned is that the external shape of the clock is marble-like or brass. It must have been a hobby. A group of clocks that make you think of that kind of thing. With the advance of digitalization, the value of the watch itself has diminished.A small digital watch is like a child’s toy, and a mobile phone with a digital clock has an image of an accessory. ・・・
There are many gramophones and records in the clock museum.
So why is there a phonograph in this clock museum? Are the inventors the same? A clock and a gramophone, it’s not Edison. No, and he wanted me to play it on a gramophone that sounded so precious and expensive that it still sounded good, but it didn’t work out. And when it comes to gramophones, he is, of course, a record. Records that make you feel nostalgic are displayed on the wall. I miss Columbia, Polydor, and he’s the name of this record company. If you look carefully at the records on display, there are many nostalgic characters. Of course, it’s a PVC LP version, but it’s on display that there’s no such record these days. I’m more interested in them than watches, but I still sometimes have vinyl vinyl records played at bars, and it’s really good. What’s good is the bass, the so-called heavy bass, which you can’t hear with today’s digital. It’s more lively than digital, and each sound resonates so well that he can hear it clearly. It’s hard to reproduce by communication or digitally, and now it’s a valuable item. Certainly, there is a limit to the media, so he wants that, and it’s true, analog is also a good place. Old records like that were lined up in a row. I don’t know how much it has to do with the clock, but if you’re going to exhibit it, please play a record.
