It’s really “Hokkaido University” with a huge site. As expected of a national university, the entire site is like a huge park.
The grounds of Hokkaido University are huge.
When I went to Sapporo, Hokkaido, I went to “Hokkaido University”. Somehow, it’s full of old modern architecture, and it’s all pretty good as a subject. . Moreover, the grounds are wide. His site is so huge that even if you go inside, you can’t go around without a car. Basically, it’s natural that all university grounds are large, but isn’t the campus the biggest? That’s how it is. It’s like having a school in the woods. I’ve heard from people who have been to Canada that his lectures in Canada are so vast that there’s even a waterfall in the park, but he’s not that big… But it’s wide.
For now, the grounds.
What’s more, it’s Hokkaido, so it’s probably like this, but it feels like it’s close to Sapporo Station. Is the city of Sapporo small or wide? But if you go a little further, it’s quite a rural landscape, so it’s not that big, but it’s a lot of land, so I don’t know if it looks relatively big, but what do you think?
Dr. Clark is famous.
Hokkaido University, famous for Professor Clark, was originally called Sapporo Agricultural College, so it was born as a university thinking about agriculture, and now it is Mammoth National University, a comprehensive university with all faculties. If you’re from Kunitachi, it’s going to be difficult, but in winter, it’s naturally covered in snow, so it’s a bit difficult for him, so that’s just my personal opinion. Also, Dr. Clark was a Christian, and he was also a Protestant, and that influence still exists in this university. Dr. Clark, who is famous for “Boys, be ambitious!”, became interested in agricultural education from his research in botany. Coupled with education, in response to a strong request from the Japanese government, it seems that Hokkaido University’s predecessor, Sapporo Agricultural College, was opened as a so-called school teacher hired by the Japanese government. Even so, he was enthusiastic about Christianity and is famous for recommending Christianity.
Dr. Clark is Christian.
Recently, Christianity around here is amazing. Right after the ban on Christianity was lifted in the Meiji era, I feel that he was very active in propagating Christianity during the Taisho era, but most Americans are Christians, aren’t they? After all, the country was so poor that it felt like the future, so the feeling of relying on God was quite excited. So, maybe he was preaching because he knew his status and fame and his business benefits. I feel like there was a lot of strategic stuff, but Dr. Clark is the same.
