Catholic Himosashi Church! ! Located in Hirado, Nagasaki Prefecture, he is a pretty good association.
Himosashi Catholic Church
A Catholic church in Himosashi-cho in Hirado. A little further from Houki Church in Hirado, he has this Catholic Himosashi Church. There’s an old little staircase, and if you climb it, you’ll come to a simple place. The staircase seems to be the same as it was at the time, and he has a well-maintained garden with the other trees planted. It was a little hot that day, and even though it was the end of Golden Week, the shade under this tree was very comfortable for him. I was standing comfortably.
It was built after the Meiji period.
This Catholic Himosashi Church stands almost in the center of Hirado Island, and is said to have been the largest church in Nagasaki when the former Urakami Cathedral was destroyed by the atomic bomb. The first chapel was built in the 18th year of the Meiji era, and many of the believers of this church were not hidden Christians of the past, but became believers after Christianity was liberated in the Meiji period. It seems that it was built with donations and cooperation from believers on this island and French believers. Also, the current church was built in 1927.
What is God?
It was a little hard to understand what this cathedral was, but when I heard that Christians in old period dramas refer to Christ as God, they worshiped this God. The temple that has this god in the center of the front, and the building where the Great Buddha is placed, like Buddhism, is that kind of thing. So, Buddhism and Christianity are the same.
There are many new followers after the Meiji period.
Also, this relationship with Christ in Nagasaki was mostly hidden Christians who created churches for Christ and became believers. I misunderstood that there were so many of them, but when I still look around the church, there are occasionally people who are kind enough to ask if they are believers, so please feel free to come in. But it’s a kind of missionary work, isn’t it? It means that there are some people who are joining from now on.
In this way, he made this church a very wonderful building.
