新名神で「旧水口図書館」へ。
滋賀県には近江兄弟社という企業があり、その創業者のヴォーリズさんは、ヴォーリズ建築でも有名で、各所に彼が設計した建物があるが、今回は「旧水口図書館」に行ってみた。行き方も最近は交通事情もよく、新名神という、滋賀から四日市方面に抜ける新たな高速が付いたせいか、結構わかりやすい道なりで、

The road is fairly easy to understand, probably because there is a new highway called Shin-Meishin that runs from Shiga to Yokkaichi. There is a branch to Meishin, so head towards Yokkaichi and you will find an exit called Shigaraki. When you enter Minakuchi, you will go to Minakuchi Elementary School.

The former Minakuchi Library is located in Minakuchi Elementary School. Enter the gate and stand on your left. It was quite old, so it was renovated and its state and interior are open to the public. The maintenance fee was originally the property of the government office, so it seems that he is maintained by the government office. It’s a small building, but it’s a beautiful Western-style building.
Mr. Kozaburo Inoue donated to his hometown.
The origin of this building is that Mr. Kozaburo Inoue, who was born in Minakuchi, went to Osaka and made a success in the hardware business and invested in it in order to contribute to the local community. The town library seems to be in another place now, and it doesn’t seem to function as a library. It is a two-story building made of reinforced concrete and was completed in 1928. After that, it was used as a library until 1945, and in 2001, it will be left as a tangible cultural property.
At that time, Vories Architectural Office was famous.
Also, as a building, the Vories Architectural Office must have been famous at the time, and it is said that Mr. Inoue commissioned the Vories Architectural Office. There are many achievements with the company, and there are still many buildings left. Mr. Vories is a Christian, and has designed many associations.Even though each building is innovative, it seems that there are some church-like parts, but at that time, the style architecture was the newest. I guess Kwansei Gakuin University is famous, and there is a big lawn in front of the clock tower school building, and his view is the best.
