I visited Toyokuni House, the oldest reinforced concrete house in Japan, located in Miyakojima Ward, Osaka City.
Reinforced concrete in the early Showa era, it seems to be a valuable building.
Toyokuni House in Miyakojima Ward, Osaka, is located in a retro-chic apartment built in the early Showa period. Specifically, it seems to be 1942. It seems to be a valuable piece of reinforced concrete collective housing that has not survived much before the war and in the early Showa era. It is a rare substitute that has won the war.
This Toyokuni House is his so-called oldest RC collective housing in Japan. Also, with RC structures, a form is made, reinforcing bars are inserted into the base, and concrete is poured in again. It is a way of making the pillars and beams that form the framework of the building in this way. This combination of reinforcing bars and concrete is important and characteristic. Speaking of tensile strength, we use reinforcing bars that are strong in tensile strength but are prone to rusting, and concrete that is weak in tensile strength but strong against rust. It is especially used for high-strength buildings such as condominiums. As for external problems, the rust-resistant alkaline concrete protects the reinforcing bars. In the event of a fire, he said, the concrete protects the rebar.
*Speaking of old folk house cafes, this is also recommended! I went to the monoire cafe in Sasayama. Each classroom is a coffee room along the corridor, which is an elementary school ruins that has been turned into a cafe. There is also an old shoe box.
It is an old two-story house.
It’s a two-story building, like an apartment complex. The rooms are divided into left and right by the central staircase, and it looks like people still live there. The retro staircase and stylish round window are a must-see. It is in a relatively dense residential area and is in a common landscape.
*Recruiting tenants?
So when I looked it up, it seems that this Toyokuni House is still looking for rental housing and is still looking for tenants. Isn’t this good news? I went inside the house through Toyokuni Coffee, and although it has a very retro feel, it’s not so bad. Looking at the application guidelines, it seems that they are recruiting residents in a renovated form internally, so I don’t know what is going on, but in 2019, he decided to open such a site. I found it. Wouldn’t it be great if you could live there?
When you enter Toyokuni Coffee, you can see the inside of the house.
You can’t go inside, so if you want to see inside, there is “Toyokuni Coffee”. It is also good to enter the shop and enjoy the funki of the early Showa period. My neighbor’s uncle also came. I was drinking coffee. It was a little hot day for a guy called “Reiko” in Osaka, so why not take a break?
