A white Art Nouveau building in the former Konoike Main Store in Konohana Ward, Osaka.
Konohana Ward in Osaka is located just across the river from Bentencho towards Kobe.
The former Konoike main store is a splendid white building.
It’s a place that feels like a downtown area, like there’s a North Port or a factory nearby. Are you familiar with Denpo-cho around here? In such a place, this “former Konoike Main Store” is a splendid white building, next to a Japanese-style two-story mansion… Apparently, both are.
A Japanese-Western style residence.
It looks like a Japanese-Western style house. This Japanese-Western mansion is thought to have been designed by Kosaburo Kubota because of its resemblance to another work, and he is equipped with stained glass, a flush toilet, and a folding bed. In 1880, Chujiro Konoike founded the Konoikegumi transportation construction company in Denpocho, and it was used as the head office of Konoikegumi from 1907 to 1968.
The road may be too narrow…
The neighborhood now feels like a small residential area, but this white mansion stands splendidly in a place where the streets feel a little narrow. Needless to say, it’s out of place… because it’s from the early Meiji era, and recently he’s been into modern architecture from this period, so it’s a place like this… This type of modern architecture is in Chuo Ward, Osaka.
Park your car near the park.
Also, many people would like to see this building, so the road is narrow. There was a park nearby, so he stopped the car and went to see it, but it’s not that far from him, about 2 minutes on foot. But you want to keep it in front.
It is located near Denpo Station on the Hanshin Namba Line.
However, it seems that there is a station in Denpocho nearby, so if there is a station nearby (Dempo Station on the Hanshin Namba Line), there is a way to get there by train. I’d like to see the information as well. This tour of the interior will come in handy for a while, but it will be quite a good time. This building is also quite small, so tours will be held by lottery, but I think it’s worth a visit.
